I. Details of the event/activity
Mr. Christan Marie V. Mallari, a fourth-year student at Gordon College studying Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing, Major in Digital Animation. He was the resource speaker of the Gnosis Studio’s first webinar event called, “Advance Sound Engineering on Instruments and Vocals Mixing” that was held on November 26, 2022, through Google Meet and Facebook Live. Mr. Mallari is the Sound Designer of the Gnosis Studio. He uses Fruity Loops Studio or FL Studio and it is a digital audio workstation that features a graphical user interface with a pattern-based music sequencer, to share his knowledge and skills with us.
II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
FL Studio 20 is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). This software allows you to record, mix and master highly complex musical titles thanks to various editing tools, plugins, and effects. FL Studio also empowers you to register and edit MIDI files, which you can play on one of the many available instruments. FL Studio is one of the most popular digital audio workstations available and used by many artists, DJs, and beatmakers worldwide. Mr. Mallari showed us how the process of mixing audio works with the said application.
III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (Practical application of learnings)
This is the first webinar event we organized for the EMC Seminars and Educational Trips subject. Even though we were prepared for the event, there are still some technical difficulties encountered. There are two more seminars to organize, and with this experience, we learned from our mistakes and will make sure that this will be prevented.
IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization)
As the event organizer, it's encouraging to hear that the audience learned something new during our webinar, even if it was just for a brief time. Mr. Christan Marie Mallari gave a very insightful talk about his passion as an Audio and Music Designer.
V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities
I suggest that the team should make sure that everything works before the day of the event and make sure there will be no overlapping of schedules with other seminars/webinars organized by the
other studios.
